You can order the springs separately from Kadee. This website you can order in bulk for better price. http://www.kadeecouplers.com/ They used to offer the couplers separate at one time. so I stand corrected. Even if you have to bulk order it will still be cheaper. All it takes is a phone call or email to find out. Just because it hasn't been done, doesn't mean it cant be done..
