He built and painted the actual model and placed it in front of the Chris White artwork. He painted many of the original monster models Aurora produced back in the 60s: Frankenstein, Dracula, The Mummy, Wolf Man, The Creature, King Kong, et al. Polar Lights re-released many of them in the late 90s and early 2000s in boxes with very similar artwork to the Aurora originals such as the Godzilla box in your pic.
