My Korean-War-era 2026 only came out at Christmas time, for a period of two or three weeks. But during those times, I ran the bejayzuz out of it. And my youngster self knew naught of cleaning or lubricating its mechanism.

Nevertheless, today it shows no signs of wear or overuse, as the OP's locomotive does.
