How to open Lionel PS-2CD Covered Hoppers to add weight?

So, as the title suggests I'd like to open some Lionel PS-2CD Covered Hoppers to add weight. The problem is that there doesn't seem to be an obvious way of getting them open. Also, I haven't been able to find any other discussions on this issue, but if there are any please link them to me. I can tell that the top loading area and the top platform area are separate pieces from the rest of the body, but I don't know how to detach them without damaging something. Any help is greatly appreciated!
