The trucks are un-sprung, and the "hidden" uncoupler tab mechanism does not work well at all. On top of that they seem to have changed the castings for the actual couplers, as they are extremely hard to couple to other rolling stock. The bolsters of the trucks are riveted and held to the caboose body with a C clip so its not as easy as it used to be to swap the trucks out for the older, much nicer ones.
