You live in Pennsylvania so train shows and train club meets should be available.  These are less expensive to by track and switches, cars engines etc. and you may meet some local guys willing to help and wanting to unload stuff.  O27 tubular is much cheaper than other track and Marx metal frog switches can be had for $10 a pair or cheaper.  Also you can get more track in a smaller space with O27.
