I'd rather be lucky than good.

I am not a great electrical person. Yesterday, I went to begin my hook up of my yard switches. The yard is located on a 3rd level using Mianne benchwork. I am using tinplate track and tinplate switches.

There are 6 switches. Left over from my old layout are five SC-1s, an SC-2 and three ASC3000s. I decided to use the SC-2. I set up a test situation. Mind you, I have never used this SC-2. It was a replacement sent to me by Lionel Service in the Fall of 2003 after I had sent in an SC-1 for repair. In October 2003, I dismantled the layout in anticipation of a move.

I removed it from the box. Read the instructions, and, it works flawlessly, after 10+ years sitting in the box!

For an electrical moron like myself, it's great when a plan works!
