after searching a bit more, i have a feeling sets were pretty basic. your pictures show their diesel locomotive, maybe an express reefer, and passenger cars, +?. here is a steam freight set i found...

locomotive, tender, maybe now a boxcar and caboose.
and some other wooden toys...

a firetruck

and a crane.

this was likely a very small business; perhaps just a family.

fun stuff.
