Dear Friends!

Some progress on the hopper. I'm working on a hand painted chipping under the rust wash to create interesting rust spots and paint chips. I posted a pic on a FB weathering group and boy did they spank me for that "melted plastic look". Just between us squirrel friends – I still love it!

In that last pic you can see how I painted chips in a lighter color and then filled them up with a darker grey. I really like that technique but it's quite labour intensive. How do you like the abrasive effect on the inside where the load glides when unloading? It's all hand painted but next time I'll do that with hairspray.
