Stan, with regard to that sensor current limitation, here is a schematic you posted of a single detector circuit for crossing signals. It has nothing in the sensor (detector) circuit to limit the current with a 5V VCC. Is the forward resistance of the transistor sufficient to limit the current with only 5V applied?
