I would doubt that anyone from IRM would post the price per car, per day they negotiated with the UP. Since the IRM stored 300 cars for the UP, I would suspect that was a real windfall for their bottom line.

No, as most of those 300 cars were stored on the IRM main line trackage, which sees no operations over the winter, since the Museum is closed.

 

From what I understand, the cars were supposed to be gone by the Memorial Day weekend.  They weren't, so there was a shortened ride on the 28th and 29th, much to the dismay of the patrons.  I also understand there was a penalty involved if they weren't off the property by a certain date.

I don't think UP paid the storage fees, the car owners did.
