Good to know! We figured that was the case, but we just wanted to be sure. Our repair person came in today and said the same thing, so we're looking into ordering a new base (or base/remote set) as soon as we are able.

There is some service and cleaning that can enhance and extend the life of an old Cab1. The touch pad(s) below the keys tend to gum over or become worn. Cleaning with a dry cotton cloth to close to original might get a bit more use. With a little luck you can still find a few Cab1 Command Base sets with minimal use. IMO, Mike CT.
