That sounds like standard 2-rail. Additionally, you could pitch the E-unit and use DC for reversing. Tried and true - I still use it.

I am willing to go battery/RC on one locomotive - I do not run much; just enough to make sure my locomotives work smoothly. I am not rushing in . . .
