Normally bushings don't get greased. If a train maker is worth its salt the bushings should be sintered bronze impregnated with oil.

After reading through all the responses, I had to chuckle for a moment as I recalled this repair on the front truck of a 200 series ALCO.

IMG_1056_w_arrowsBushings??? We don't need no steenking bushings! Lionel's design was to let the axles (and therefore the weight of the car) ride on the edges of this piece of sheet metal - and that was the ONLY bearing surface! Thank goodness this era has passed!!!

I have used red n tacky grease, high pressure lithium "break-in" grease meant for the break-in period on a new automotive camshaft, and I have even used automotive wheel bearing grease - the latter was touted as having lots of fiber to add cohesiveness and allow it to stick to the wheel bearing surfaces in a car (that proved to be a little too thick for my little trains

I guess the bottom line is to try 'em and see if you like 'em. At my age, I doubt I will be around to see any grease-induced corrosion or acid attacks on my train's bearings, so maybe the next guy will have to deal with them ...
