Reply to "Is there and if so who makes it? RED WHITE and BLUE! FULL-SIZED SCALE!"

John,

Not sure what engine you are talking about.  There are three BN red-white-blue engines that I know of, two with "Spirit of '76": a U30C and a SD40-2.  Both are excellent engines for pulling a bicentennial freight train.

There are several bicentennial themed freight cars available from all the manufacturers.  Many of the cars are scale but there a lot that are less than scale sized or "traditional" sized.  Just keep an eye out for them being sold by our forum sponsors, at shows or on eBay.  Here are just a few of mine.

An interesting note about the two BN engines MTH decided to model (U30C and SD40-2).  These two engines, MUed, were the only diesels to pull the American Freedom Train without one of the AFT steamers.  This was because 4449 needed to be shopped and the other two steamers were not available.  Since the next route segment for the AFT was on BN's tracks, these diesels got chosen.
