Ives O Gauge Motor Parts

This will likely lead to the same dead end as my inquiry about repro motor brushes for a Lionel 150 locomotive that I made a couple of weeks back....

Anyway, I recently acquired an Ives 3252 O gauge locomotive.  It looks good (restored) and runs quite well, however the motor brushes are looking rather thin after 100 years of use.  Has anybody reproduced the wiper style motor brushes used in these motors?  Does anybody have an alternative solution to replace them if repro's aren't available?

Edit: I think I answered my own question.  I removed the brush plate to clean up the commutator face and noticed that a previous owner appears to have soldered new brushes with copper tabs onto the original copper brush springs, so they already aren't original.
