JEP S gauge and 0 gauge

JEP from France is one of the view manufacturers from Europe that made S gauge trains inspired by a visit from one of their employees to the US in the beginning of the fifties where he saw American Flyer trains. I noticed I have a JEP S locomotive that looks similar (and has exactly the same mechanism) as a JEP 0 gauge locomotive. So today I ran them side by side in the garden:

The JEP motor can be run on AC or DC; so one of the locomotives runs on AC power and the other on DC. I could not see any difference.
