Reply to "John Daniels Gg1 sets"

Hello Mike23,

Yes the White Daniel's Railway GG1 belongs to me. All pictures I post are of items in my collection.

According to the recently published book "NOT Your Daddy's Standard Gauge" by Arno Baars & David Carse on page 306 it states " Daniel made one white GG1 for himself". On page 301 is a picture of my White GG1 with the caption below it reading "One of a kind: John Daniel's white GG1."

If anyone knows what was made as far as MESG trains, it was Arno Baars.

I purchased my white GG1 (which was a dummy unit)  from the estate of the late Arno Baars.

Arno bought it directly from John Daniel. When I purchased it, it came in its original box with the shipping label still attached which shows it went directly from John Daniel to Arno Baars.

So as far as the one you referenced I have no knowledge about it nor its provenance.

But I do know mine is legit....

Please keep us informed if you obtain any further information on the piece you referenced.
