Reply to "Need Help, Just Learning about Pre-war trains."

I'm looking at the 1937 catalog right now.  The UP streamliner is a reasonably correct model of the prototype.  The only part of the Hiawatha that looks like the real thing is the locomotive.  Lionel took the three cars of the UP train, changed the front truck and used different paint and lettering to fake a Hiawatha.   

The Milwaukee never had a blind end like the UP train.  Hiawathas all ended in real observation cars.  MILW had no articulated cars.
