I wouldn't call it PnP, but it's not rocket science. There are some wrinkles (aren't there always) for certain K-Line models. Specifically, a few models (the tank engine comes to mind) generate the chuff from the cruise board. If you replace the cruise board, you have to add a chuff switch. Others may power markers or cab lights from the aux outputs of the cruise board, you may have to tweak those a bit.
