Ported speakers have air leaks.

Acoustic suspension speakers do not.

My experience is that you can have small air leaks and you do not need to seal the tender shell to the floor.

My most impressive installation is in an MTH EF3b. No baffle. Lots of air leaks. Dramatic Base.
