K-Line version of Marx 333?

Looking at possibly buying a little used K-Line Pennsylvania Iron Horse set that includes a Marx based 4-6-2 locomotive. Are the K-Line versions of the 333 conventionally operated? What kind of motor (DC can or AC open frame?) do they have?
