The small black machine screws are used in conjunction with the metal strips to clamp the rail joint/ adjacent ties. There are matching nuts imbedded in the top of the trestle. The grey base allows for hidden (flat head) screws and is press-fit to the bottom of the trestle "logs".

The smallest trestles (without "logs) do not have the imbedded nuts and should be screwed directly to the table and/or just friction fit under the track.

I’m planning to use it with Ross track. Do the metal strips fasten the track to the trestles? Will it work with Ross track? What about the spacing between the trestles.

Do you have a copy of the instructions or somewhere to find them.

The trestles will work with most tubular track styles, I am not sure about Ross specifically. The metal strips do not really "fasten" the track mechanically- it is more of a friction fit/ clamping effect. I used them with regular tubular track with no real issues. Ideally, the traditional 10" spacing should be maintained to prevent sagging, but this also depends upon the stiffness of the track itself. As with any trestle system, longer and/or stiffer spans can be achieved by adding a base of plywood, etc. to help support the track.

I could not find the instructions, but some representative photos are attached below:
