Some time ago I posted photos of a kitbashed Lionel conventional 0-8-0 that I added a Vanderbilt tender and
assorted appliances to....I had then mulled over adding a two wheel pilot truck to it but found it was not that
easy to add a working front coupler, and then cram in the truck, so omitted the truck. A number of those 0-8-0's, in varous decorations, are at auction. I'd like a small freight 2-8-0 or 2-8-2 to accompany the 0-8-0 (no Belpaire boiler). MTH did a 2-8-0 with a Belpaire boiler, so that won't work, but did an inexpensive 2-6-0, which are out there. They have also more recently done a $500 2-6-0, not what what I am looking for, either. Any
low cost kit bash fodder in MTH or Lionel small conventional freight steamers I have missed?
