The interesting thing about those "odd looking" double coal piles on the UP Challenger model is, that was pretty much the way the CB&Q RR loaded THEIR larger steam locomotives, such as the 4-6-4s, 4-8-4s, and 2-10-4s for example. Look for photos of freshly serviced CB&Q steam power and the twin coal peaks are unmistakable.
