Top pic between the mains mix of dark and med green course turf, earth and soil fine. i just kind of mix and see what happens . the over grown spot you see on the strait is that over top of Lichen with glue in it before applying turf..

where trees are i stick with these two mixed and add fine earth.

2nd pic is WALTHERS grass mat 12mm tall, mix of fine Woodland scenics earth soil and grass..
