If your only going to do minor repairs occasionally, you should pick up the Link Coupler Pin Setting tool, the Rivet Setting tool and the Eyelet Setting tool. I used them for years without an issues. The Link Coupler Pin Setting tool puts a factory crimp on the pin so only you will know it was ever replaced. The Rivet Setting Tool is great for reinstalling trucks especially the tender trucks if the bushings are bad and you have to replace them. These days I have a Lionel press and its a bit easier to use than the hand tools. I just mount the Link Coupler Pin Setting tool in the press and use it that way. Maybe next York I'll see about getting the proper Iron Horse attachment.
