Jerry, the photograph of my first O gauge layout that wasn’t Christmas themed used a green indoor-outdoor carpet from Ollie’s discount store. I never did that before. On my HO layout from high school days had green dyed sawdust. My later HO layouts featured Woodland Scenics ground foam.
