We owned a house like that along a country road at one time, and our first house had 20 steps down to the front porch, then that many again down to below the garage in the basement. We are at the tip top of a hill overlooking the town 300 feet below, so we don't have those problems, but sometimes it seems like a bobsled run down to town in the wintertime.
