so apparently the benchwork demons have possessed me during the last few days. i hope im not the only one who has has sleepless nights due to track plans going through the head! ive expanded the layout along the wall around the corner. my original spot for my "grand" rail station wouldnt have been long enough to back in a 4 car streamliner , so i branched off. it will eventually be on a second level and underneath , two platforms / 3 tracks of commuter. along the backwall will be storage yard for passenger stock , plus a pass through that will lead to the "new leg" which will have an 0-42 turnaround loop. i was hoping to add a roundhouse in that area as well. up top next to the wall, i plan on running an El subway which will have a station adjacent to the "grand " terminal coming in from the main layout. the El will also loop around over the lower track and feed back in. the second level wood you see is just to get a rough idea. i plan on making the second level about 9" off the first so that you can see whats going on down there
i keep saying to myself... i might as well go big now! , plus i have the room which doesnt hurt. as you can see ive started accumulating track and switches. my wife digs it and cant wait to see trains... but man, im a long way off!
