Legacy big boy

I took my Lionel big boy out of the box to set it up for Christmas as I normally do every year. Put it on the track and everything seemed normal. Fired it up everything was fine. It moved two feet stopped and the cab blinks continuously green . I tried to find this magical reset button according to the manual but to no avail. Then I tried by watching a video on YouTube to reset the engine. Now things are really screwed up. Help IM lost
