I believe you can simply address any TMCC locomotive and operate it ( and probably Legacy for that matter) albiet in TMCC mode in either case.

Loading the Legacy info gets you the legacy speed steps and other goodies, but Legacy engines will operating under basic TMCC without loading.

I'm not sure how this effects any of the techno jargon you guys are discussing, wayyyy over my head LOL! Just thought I'd add this comment from an "electronics dummy".

I'll just wait patiently for a mass produced bridge once you guys iron everything out
