Judging by the date Bob claims this was taken, this is more than likely not the 2101. These were taken in 1988; the 2101 hadn’t steamed for a decade at that point. With that being said, sister locomotive no. 2100 was also owned by Ross Rowland used as a parts engine for the 2101 during the American Freedom Train and Chessie Steam Special. Therefore, I’m pretty sure this is Reading no. 2100’s first steam up since 1964. Coincidentally, the 2100 is currently under restoration in another roundhouse that once belonged to another CSX ancestor: the Baltimore and Ohio. This scene could be recreated in the very near future!
