Tony,

My guess is that the backup light is not properly seated. You can open up the tender and try to repair yourself, should be a relatively simple job. Take pictures of the tender as you go along just in case you have any trouble reassembling the tender. The light could of been jarred loose during shipping.

Good luck with your engine I have seen a few T1 videos and they look and sound great. If you cannot fix the problem you may want to contact Lionel or Alex M or GRJ who unlike me know what they are doing with repairs.
