May be more efficient. Less internet space than all additional post. 
Also convenient. Usually if you check "Alerts" upper right corner of your face page, you can note the number of recent "likes". Click on Alerts, accesses a list of the "likes", and who posted them.
IMO, a plus, gives you a pretty good idea of those who follow your posts.
