there are 2 stacks, when its cold, put about 15 to 20 in each stack, this takes care of the smoke and smoking whistle.....Use Lionel Premium Smoke Fluid for WARRANTY....1 Year Warranty. The smoke element gets HOT.....I would imagine you can get this special smoke fluid at a Lionel Dealer..... Enjoy, this is one fine engine.....Merry Christmas to You.....
