Hi Ken - I started this layout in 1983 with Lionel "O" Tubular track with home made wooden ties, on a cork bed with ballast.

In about 1997, the layout went through a major do over and at this point I started using K-Line shadow rail on a cork roadbed. The cork roadbed is spray painted a flat gray, and in part of the layout I have painted the outer edge of the tubular track with a rust colored paint.

What you see in the video is all K-Line Shadow Rail, that I purchased from a K-Line Super Store. K-Line and Lionel Switches. If I ever do a major do over again. I would use GarGraves O Gauge Flex Track with Ross Switches.

Hope this helps, what track do you use on your layout?

Gary
