Lionel #12886 floodlight tower shorting out

triplexOGR Forum Member DIGITAL SUBSCRIBER

I have a Lionel #12886 floodlight tower with four lights. Recently it bgan to spark and short out. I noticed significant rust along the touching surfaces of the two supporting brackets. What do I need to do to get it working again? thanks
