Lionel 3520 Rotating Searchlight Car

Is the coil supposed to vibrate to cause the searchlight to rotate? Think I have it wired correctly. Light works but no vibration from coil. When run, the searchlight rotates very slowly probably because of the vibration from running. But I'm not sure that's the way it's supposed to work. I have the third wire grounded. Greenburg's manual shows light and coil being grounded separately, but I don't know where the grounding wire is for coil. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Tom LoPresti
