Lionel 3656 stock car platform ramps

I am a latecomer to owning this finicky accessory and I know much as been written about it on this forum and the frustrations it has wrought.  I have read most of them but I have not seen a post on my particular issue. Mine is a postwar version and I have the original cattle figures.  The cattle move well through the platform corrals and move freely through the car.  But where they hang up is on both ends at the hinged ramps, both entry and exit.  I have painstakingly adjust them to just barely touch the car runway and they are very level.  Furthermore they align horizontally with the car runway as best as can be expected.  I have cleaned these ramps with alcohol to make sure there is no residue of any kind.  The problem seems to be that the ramps just don't seem to vibrate with the same intensity as the rest of the platform.  I have also varied the voltage between 12 and 16v without success. Also I have read a bit about the adhesive washers on the car which I have replaced with Train Tender supplied parts.  I have not replaced the platform grommets (3656-71 ?) as Train Tender does not list replacements for those.  The guess there is that if the platform has more vibration freedom perhaps it will be transmitted to the ramps also?
