I recently purchased a used Lionel 6-14005 Coal Ramp which was supposed to be in working order. It is very clean and came in the original box. I hooked it up to a transformer, put a 3469 dump car in position at the top of the ramp, and tried the controller. The dump worked fine. The uncoupler to release the car from the engine worked some of the time. The uncoupler at the top of the ramp does not work at all. Both of the unload and engine side uncoupler worked fine when I tested them on a screwdriver. Magnets are working fine.
Can someone help me get this back in proper working order?
- Is there something I need to clean or adjust to get the unload and uncoupler magnets to work every time with a dump car?
- How does the ramp uncoupler/release work? The micro switch works to turn on the light. What should cause the uncoupler to release the car?
It is frustrating not to be able to find information on these accessories. Just trying to make the grandson happy. All help will be appreciated.
