Maybe the controller contacts are dirty. Like Chuck says you have to have the right hopper, a bottom dump two bay car it to work. If my memory serves me it is a three button controller. One button controls uncoupling the car on the ramp, another button controls the dumping and the third button controls releasing the car to go down the ramp. I think when you release the car the red light comes on too.....................Paul
