Lionel 6-14184 vs 6-81640

Other than cost, is there reason to use a BCP2 (81640) on a Legacy controlled layout vs using TMCC BCP (14184)? I'm already planning on using TMCC SC2's, AMC, AVC with a LCS SER2 serial connector.
