it does not come apart like a normal 3 rail O scale steam locomotive does. The bottom half of the boiler separates from the top half. You need to flip the locomotive over in a cradle or a towel and look where the two halves meet …..also, keep track of what screws you took out of where, and make note ….some are longer than others,…
