Lionel 6-8063 Seaboard SD-9 Service Help

I'm trying to figure out how to release the motor on my 8063 Seaboard from truck so that I can clean and lubricate it. It looks like the motor and truck frame cannot be separated, almost like they have been peened together at a rivet. The rest of the engine is all lubricated but there is a whining type noise on start up that seems to be coming from where the motor shaft is engaging the gears in the truck.

I can't seem to find any service information on this engine on line so hopefully someone here has experience with this engine type.
