Well, I am 99% sure that the sound board is toast based on the charring of the holder! If it's under warranty, contact Lionel. The sound board is available, and for a Legacy locomotive, you're going to want a Legacy sound board. This should be a free fix, other than shipping. It is NOT normal for these to go up in smoke, the only ones I've seen do that are ones that there was a wiring flaw or other abuse.
