I also had to sand the sides of the hatch for the switches, it was so tight that I couldn't get it out. I pulled one of the lift rings out and had to glue it back in, finally got the hatch open. It was TIGHT! I sanded the sides and touched up the black, now I can actually open it to get to the switches and battery. Never a dull moment...
