Lionel has been making American Flyer S Gauge trains since 1979. The O Gauge Railroading Lionel/AF VIDEO presentation concisely covers some of the high points of almost 34 years of S gauge production. The basic idea was to demonstrate to Lionel Collectors Club of America members that learning about S gauge trains opens up a whole new world of Lionel collecting and operating.

Lionel production has progressed from three freight cars made from original A C Gilbert molds in 1979 to a first ever separate 2012 Catalog featuring articulated 2-8-8-2 steamers, SD70ACe Diesels loaded with the latest Legacy command control features and RailSounds that sport all new S scale tooling.
