Lionel Century Club 6-18068 Tender

Hello, I've just received a brand new unopened Pennsylvania 18068 6 wheel tender, question I have is their any issues I should check out before putting it on track, in other words, board foam deterioration or does this unit have the plastic cradle to secure the board, just a question, before I remove the shell which I would like to not do if not necessary, Thank You Frank
