Stuck my foot in it again, Gene. I opened up my 14005 to get a look at the different controller. Since there is no detailed schematic I just opened up the controller. A,B,and C correspond with the white, red and green wires on the 456C, so the three wires from the 456-100 should attach to A,B and C on the ramp. Simply attach the 3 wires one at a time to test whether they correspond to the correct operation.
Connector D with the yellow wire on the ramp is hot unswitched ( probably feeds constant power to the modern ramp lamp ) and E is common, extra assurance the ramp circuit is complete.
